Our Story
Established under the joint leadership of the Jordanian Cardiac Society (JCS) and the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the American Heart Association, the Jordanian Chest Pain Care Taskforce was launched following a national conference and roundtable held in early May 2025
This Taskforce is tasked with standardizing and elevating emergency response protocols for acute chest pain across all healthcare sectors in Jordan.
Key Objectives:
-
Implement a unified national protocol for the diagnosis and management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS), integrating emergency departments, ambulance services, and catheterization centers.
-
Activate STEMI protocols promptly
-
Form a centralized STEMI Coordination Unit, overseeing a real-time digital dashboard linking EDs, ambulances, and PCI centers, to monitor bed availability, lab readiness, and the on‑call team status.
-
Facilitate fast-track transfers from non-PCI hospitals to PCI centers, eliminating administrative delays and ensuring timely reperfusion treatment.
-
Launch electronic communication infrastructure, including secure apps and hotlines for in‑field ECG transmission and coordination with receiving catheterization teams.
-
Train EMS and emergency personnel on ECG interpretation—especially for STEMI equivalents such as Wellens or De Winter syndromes—and early activation procedures.
-
Resurrect the “Life Network – Life Stent” initiative, a national program aligning field diagnosis, transfer, intervention, and post-discharge follow-up in time-sensitive cardiac cases
